Brightwater Vineyards Pinot Noir gets Gold Medal for 12th time

Brightwater Vineyards 2017 Lord Rutherford Pinot Noir has just been awarded a GOLD MEDAL at New Zealand International Wineshow!

This is Brightwater Vineyards 12th gold medal for Pinot Noir and now means that every vintage of Lord Rutherford Pinot Noir since 2010 has received a gold medal.

Gary Neale, co-owner of Brightwater Vineyards says “It is good to see that Nelson is starting to be recognised as a great New Zealand Pinot Noir region alongside Central Otago and Martinborough.”

Medal results were released today. The trophies will be announced at the awards dinner on 25th October.

I have been writing a regular wine column for The Nelson Mail newspaper since 2000.

Unfortunately the column space is not big enough to include my thoughts on all of the many wines I taste. Hopefully this blog will fix that. It also gives me somewhere to archive the many columns I write. I will also include some favourite recipes from my dearly beloved who loves cooking and of course because wine and food simply go together. I will also point you in the direction of upcoming events and websites I think are great. Enjoy, Neil
