Saint Clair Family Estate Pioneer Block 17 Syrah 2014

Flavours of sweet dark berry when you first taste it before the complex secondary flavours kick in delivering lashings of smoky bacon and gentle warm spices all hanging off a tannin structure that is refined and elegant. Another very good wine from one of New Zealand’s most consistent quality wine producers. I tasted a number of wines from the 2014 Hawke's Bay vintage late in 2015 and I think this vintage is every bit as good as the highly acclaimed 2013 vintage so look for some exceptional 2014 wines from most Hawke's Bay producers
